• The most common cause of pump failure is dry running. Grundfos’ dry running protection device, the LiqTec, stops the pump running, via the motor’s contactor starter, if there is no liquid in the vicinity of the shaft seal. The sensor is specifically designed to be installed on the CR, CRI and CRN range of pumps where an auxiliary connection is available on the pump’s top casting. Use on single pump installations only and not on packaged sets where alternative protection is normally provided.
